Bio
Silvia Cattelan is an evolutionary biologist, and her interests span from sexual selection to behavioural ecology. Silvia studies male reproductive aging in turquoise killifish in the Valenzano lab at the Leibniz Institute on Aging. Her research focuses on investigating the age-associated changes in the ejaculate characteristics and the consequences of advanced paternal age on offspring fitness. She uses in vitro and behavioural experiments, as well as histochemical and molecular techniques to investigate male reproductive aging in turquoise killifish. You can find her previous works on fishes (guppy, zebrafish and Mediterranean killifish) on her Google Scholar page.
