Bio
Kanstantsin Siniuk is a molecular biologist with a medical background and practical expertise in microscopy, automated image analysis, CRISPR/Cas genome editing and molecular evolution. He is interested in understanding how DNA damage repair interacts with transcription and metabolism in the context of cancer development, aging and rare familial syndromes, like amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). In the Valenzano Lab he uses CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing to generate a novel model of ALS in order to dissect how DNA repeat expansion drives ALS pathology.
